A persistent bias continues to shape much of modern scientific inquiry… the human body is routinely examined as though it were little more than an intricate biological machine, assembled from molecular components, chemical reactions, and isolated enzymatic pathways operating within an exclusively classical framework.
Our attention is drawn towards biochemical inputs and outputs, the sequencing of genes, the cataloguing of proteins, and the countless interactions between molecules, as though life itself were nothing more than the sum of physical processes governed by the collision of matter.
Yet this reductionist perspective repeatedly struggles to account for the extraordinary coordination exhibited by living systems. Trillions of cellular components function in seamless synchrony, maintaining an astonishing level of order that appears to transcend the limitations of purely mechanical explanations. The true foundation of biological coherence resides not within the tangible architecture of the cell alone, but within an underlying field-coupled organisation that bridges the subatomic world with the macroscopic structure of the living organism…
To identify the origin, and explore the potential, of this remarkable coherence, humanity must look beyond the familiar territories of classical biochemistry… descending into the subatomic landscape of the mitochondrial matrix.
The Quantum Core of the Mitochondrial Matrix
Hidden within the intricate folds of the mitochondrion lies the true structural-bridge between the subatomic realm and the domain of the physically macroscopic… what I am referring to is the microscopic iron-sulphur clusters arranged in highly ordered crystalline lattices.
These “quantum-biological” metallo-clusters operate as the electron transfer intermediaries, facilitating the movement of individual electrons along established metabolic pathways… as is already prevalent in many quantum-biological theoretical models.
Now let us follow this rationale a little further, shall we… exploring these same structures through the combinational-perspective-lens of structural biology and formal quantum mechanics?
So, essentially, these iron-sulphur clusters exist within environments of exceptional structural density, supporting continuously evolving quantum spin configurations. Rather than serving solely as chemical conductors, they function as highly localised quantum transceivers operating within the warm, aqueous environment of the living cell, and for as long as memory serves, mainstream physics maintained a particular “status-quo”.

What I appreciate most is the distinction you're making between quantum biology and quantum mysticism. Quantum biology is becoming an increasingly legitimate scientific field, with solid evidence in areas like photosynthesis, magnetoreception, enzyme catalysis, and possibly even aspects of neural processing. The real challenge is identifying where the evidence ends and speculation begins. Keeping those boundaries clear doesn't weaken wonder. It actually strengthens it. That's where the most interesting conversations begin.
After the last piece (introducing the human body into the overall equation) I had a sneaking feeling this piece would follow on its heels. It makes me feel I carry around my own personal universe (after its having localized from the quantum level to the mitochondrial level to the biological level) or, correct that, that I am the universe in a smaller version which happened to localize. (But I am still waiting for the piece to discuss why “things” localize.)
